CREDIT UNION ONCE AGAIN
AWARDS FIVE SCHOLARSHIPS FOR
2011 TOTALING $3,000 TO JUNE
2011 HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATES
The Board of Directors again
this year has voted to offer
scholarships totaling $3,000 to
June secondary school graduates.
In addition to the annual
William J. Spratt Memorial
Scholarship of $1,000, which has
been awarded for the past 25
years, three $500 scholarships
were additionally awarded in
memory of Mr. Spratt.
Beginning with The Class of 2008
a new $500 scholarship, in
memory of former Board of
Director, Mr. Otis Severance,
was also added to the list of
credit union scholarships. This
scholarship is given annually to
a Wareham resident in
recognition of the credit union
supporting our base of operation
in our home community of
Wareham.
The 2011 recipient of the $1,000
scholarship is Ms. Rachael
Webby, a senior at Silver Lake
Regional High School in
Kingston, MA.
Rachael ranks in the top five
percent of her graduating class.
In addition to her exceptional
academic record, she has
participated in numerous school
extra curricular activities
during her high school career.
Rachael plans to attend UMASS
Amherst this fall, enrolling in
The School of Business.
In addition to our $1,000
recipient, we are pleased to
announce the winners of the
other four $500 scholarships.
They are:
Ms. Mary-Lee Barboza of Old
Rochester Regional HS, Mr.
Patrick Donoghue of Middleboro
HS, Ms. Sylvia Pacheco of
Fairhaven HS and Ms. Felicia
Thomas of Wareham HS.
The Scholarship Committee wishes
to thank the many students who
applied for this year’s
scholarships. The decision, as
always seems to be the case, was
most difficult, having to choose
from so many well-rounded and
qualified young adults.
